Skill levels and experience

Reading progress

Skills use a level curve from 1 to 100. Your XP total is cumulative; the next level needs more XP than the last. The progress display shows how much remains.

Knowledge comes from the Scripture games. Fishing, Cooking, Righteousness and Faith have their own activities. Peace is your health resource, not another trainable skill.

Every skill’s top level is 100, not 99: Old School RuneScape’s own formula carried one level further. Experience keeps counting after level 100, up to 200,000,000, and the total level counts each skill out of 100.

Every skill gives a reward at level 100, once: a mantle of that skill that only those at level 100 wear (bound to you: it can be worn and stored, never traded, sold or dropped), a title by your name on that skill’s hiscores board, and one useful touch. The Game tab says it, and every traveller near you sees the celebration. Each later skill follows the same rule.

Knowledge

Scholar's mantle; the title Scribe of the kingdom (Matthew 13:52); An honour for those who know the Scriptures best.

Fishing

Mantle of the fisher; the title Fisher of men (Matthew 4:19); Your catches come more often at every spot: at most 95 casts in 100, not 90.

Cooking

Mantle of the fire of coals; the title Keeper of the coals (John 21:9); Nothing you cook ever burns.

Righteousness

Mantle of righteousness; the title Bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1); The steadiest heart: in the dark, the fiery darts of doubt take a full quarter less of your Peace.

Faith

Mantle of faith; the title Strong in faith (Romans 4:20); The most Peace there is, 100, beside the last Word, Mighty through God.

Slinging

Mantle of the slingers; the title Slinger of Benjamin (Judges 20:16); The hair's breadth, and your stones never miss the marks.

Quest rewards

Some early quests lift a skill to level 10. Their minimum reward still applies when your level is already higher. Check the individual quest page for its requirements and rewards.

A displayed mini game score is not the same as skill XP. Rewards must be accepted by the server. There is no daily limit: play as long as you like.
