Skills
Cooking
This page is about a skill you can train.
Turn fish and flour into food, then eat, share or sell what you make.
How to cook

- Catch a fish and keep it in your bag.
- Go to the fire of coals and choose to cook.
- For bread, use flour at a courtyard oven. Bread needs Cooking level 3.
- Keep successful food for Peace recovery, quests or neighbours in need.

Burning and progression
At a recipe’s required level the base burn chance is 35%. It falls by 3 percentage points for each level above that, normally to a minimum of 2%. Grilled sardines stop burning at Cooking level 20, and at Cooking level 100 nothing burns.
Flour supplies are tied to A Table for the Believers, so bread is not an unlimited shop purchase. A Table for the Believers improves your cooking at the coals. The musht recipe exists, but its normal boat fishing method is not currently available.
Level 100
Mantle of the fire of coals, worn only by those at level 100, and the title Keeper of the coals by your name on the hiscores. Nothing you cook ever burns.
The mantle is given once, into your bag (or your storehouse when the bag is full), the moment the game sees your Cooking at level 100. Every traveller near you sees the celebration.
This guide describes game mechanics. Skill names and levels describe a character’s progress, not a person’s spiritual standing.
