Getting started
Movement, camera and mobile controls
This page helps you learn to play.
Walk, follow friends, adjust the camera and keep the mobile screen clear.
Moving and interacting
Close the controls strip when you are comfortable. Tick Don’t show again before closing to remember that choice on your account. Restore it in the pause menu under Settings, Controls guide.
Click or tap walkable ground to move. Use a character or object menu to talk, examine or interact. The People tab offers Walk to and Follow for travellers in your Capernaum.
Follow needs a traveller who is currently present and reachable. It ends when you choose your own movement or action. Distance does not limit either command within an area. For a traveller inside the cave or High Place, the route uses the normal entrances and exits. The entrance must be unlocked for you.
On a phone
The settings let you turn the movement joystick on or off. Use the jump button alongside it. Open chat or the bag when needed, then close the panel to restore your view.
Party information and world boss details collapse into compact controls on smaller screens. Turn your phone sideways if you prefer more space across the scene.
Camera and accessibility
Rotate, tilt and zoom the camera to choose a view that suits you. It keeps your view in Capernaum, the caves and every other place, and passes through walls and rock rather than jumping in front of them.
Use 1 through 9, then 0, minus and equals for the twelve Words in book order. The number pad works too. Held Words toggle on or off; spoken Words become your chosen Word, as when clicked in the book. Chat and dialogues keep their own keys. Zoom uses the wheel, pinch or controller shoulders.
Use the settings for sound, graphics and reduced motion. A higher graphics setting costs more device power; choose a setting that remains smooth on your device.
This guide describes game mechanics. Skill names and levels describe a character’s progress, not a person’s spiritual standing.
