Chat and emotes

This page is about playing with other people.

Talk with nearby travellers and customise how much chat you see.

Speaking

Open chat, type your message and press Enter. Public chat needs to be enabled, and the community rules apply. A slash at the start sends a message to your party when you are in one.

The Emotes tab provides gestures visible to nearby players. Fishing, cooking, eating and combat actions also have shared animations.

Comfort and safety

Set chat to show between 1 and 15 lines and choose whether its background is visible. On mobile, close the chat sheet when you finish typing.

Use a player’s menu to report or block them if needed. Keep private contact details out of public chat. Read the game’s community rules from the Games menu.

This guide describes game mechanics. Skill names and levels describe a character’s progress, not a person’s spiritual standing.
